Past video-making courses include:
Decolonising Development: exploring decolonial epistemologies, alternative academic knowledge production and representation of marginalised voices, through video-making with a critical lens.
Agroecological Learning & Communication: using video as a tool to promote agroecological practices, share farming experiences and engage with sustainable agriculture communities.
Women's StoryCircles: supporting women's empowerment and feminist solidarities through storytelling, deep listening and collaborative video production.
Participatory Video Facilitation: training researchers and community workers to lead their own workshops and empower others to share their own stories
Example of our partnerships
Video-Co-Lab work with a variety of organisations to support network and community-building. As one recent example, we worked with the Global Partnership Network (GPN) to develop two online courses for an international network of civil society organisations, collectively working towards the 17th United Nations Sustainable Development Goal.
The first course focussed on the practicalities of “Video-making to support communication processes in the GPN”. The second course was seminar-based, on the topic of “Participatory Video (PV) as a method for collaborative research and community engagement”.
Through this collaboration, we developed a series of Open Access Handbooks.
